Criterion Convergence III
April 4-6, 2006
Seattle, Washington
Criterion Ventures gathered leaders in social change April 4-6, 2006 in Seattle Washington. At Convergence, dynamic people throughout our network meet, bridge interest areas and transform ideas into good. We carefully create our list of invitees for this by-invitation-only event and design it around each participant’s work, passions and the methods that convert socially-oriented ideas into real solutions.
Prior to the event, Criterion asks each participant to provide information on their interests, passions, current projects and work direction. From this, we create a personalized schedule of conversations, some small, some big, that enables connection and allows them to explore their interests and advance their agendas. The schedule allows for both structured conversation and informal exchanges over drinks or during a walk. Convergence is not your average conference. It is a series of intentional conversations designed around participants’ interests.
Examples of conversations from Convergence III include:
- Leadership for Civic Life
- Economics of Social Change
- Sustainable Communities
- The Influence of Ideas
- Creating Systems for Access to Knowledge
- Structures of For-Benefit Businesses
- Packaging Ideas and Content
- Instruments for Investing for Social Good
Criterion’s core business is to launch social ventures that create a better world. Convergence reflects our belief that when passionate, interesting and committed people come together innovative solutions arise. Our conversations lead to actions, opportunities explored and vetted, and connections ready to inspire something new.
