As blended finance is becoming increasingly core to development programs, many policymakers are questioning how their financing strategies can support the full intent of their policy objectives. Criterion equips government bodies and advocacy groups to utilize existing social policies to raise the bar for private investment initiatives.
Criterion partners with development finance institutions, donor governments, multilateral agencies, government commissions focused on social inequities, and policymakers at a national, regional, and local level. We steward long-term relationships with those who are willing to use their power and influence todrive higher standards. Through the design of case studies and trainings, we demonstrate that more is possible and provide guidance on how to achieve it.
The initial focus will leverage the momentum behind strong gender policies being implemented around the world before expanding to incorporate a broader range of social policies. Our work to design a global system of standards for the field of gender lens investing is already well underway.
We imagine a world in which social policymaking is accompanied by diverse and multilateral implementation strategies robustly funded by private and government sources working in full alignment.
