Criterion Institute worked with World University Service of Canada (WUSC) on a six-year project named GRIT: Growth, Resilience, Investment and Training, funded by Global Affairs Canada. GRIT’s goal is to build a gender-responsive entrepreneurial ecosystem in Sri Lanka’s North with sustainable pathways to enhanced economic empowerment, well-being, and inclusive growth.

To support GRIT’s goal of building a gender-responsive entrepreneurial ecosystem, Criterion developed a portfolio of insights to expand thinking and perceptions around how finance could be used for social change. Insights are about fostering imagination, conceptualizing ideas and strategies that have not yet been implemented. Creating a portfolio of such insights is an important early step in envisioning possible changes, such as shifts in power dynamics, changes in a field, or the emergence of innovative financial solutions.

We hope the insights below help spark your imagination of what’s possible in Sri Lanka.
