How your
donation is used

Your donation enables the Criterion team to stand in the face of power, and ensure the power of our financial systems is directed to be a positive force against systemic injustice. Every dollar contributed goes directly towards enabling investors and social change organizations to intervene in financial systems in bold and imaginative new ways.

Why Support Criterion

Our Impact

For almost 25 years, Criterion Institute has been helping organizations around the world to see finance differently and reimagine what might be possible if the power of our financial systems was used for the greater good.

In that time, our impact has come from creating threefold change in our audiences: imagination about the overlooked possibilities of finance as a tool for change, understanding about how that change happens so that it can be adopted and scaled, and a will to act and create that change in the first place.

Together with a bold and committed network of friends and allies (like you!), we have achieved some remarkable things, including:

• Building the field of gender lens investing

• Designing a unique framework for innovating within financial systems, and training thousands of investors and social change leaders in how to use it

• Shaping the healthcare reform debate in the US by introducing the concept of a cash market for healthcare

• Aggregating $1T in intent from asset owners willing to address GBV

• Developing a curriculum to help over 300 churches connect faith and finance and support social good in their communities through small loans to local businesses.

Thank you for helping to make all of this possible.
There is so much more we can do together.

Donate Now
I donate to Criterion because it has served as the most important gender-lens field-building organization in the US - and probably the world - for over 15 years. Their role in framing the discipline, pioneering new concepts and models, and convening all the players is unparalleled! I get a real multiplier effect from this kind of donation.
