Improving urban hospital systems’ access to rural women and children open up a significant market that allow for improvements in maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH). Misallocated investments result in both the undervaluing of critical MNCH products that fail to serve the needs of the rural communities and the overvaluing of MNCH facilities excessive to the needs of the urban communities.
